with us!
Thank
you for your interest in volunteering for the Women’s
Funding Alliance (WFA). Our
organization is truly a community effort and volunteers are
crucial to helping us fulfill our mission of investing in the
lives of women and girls.
Volunteer opportunities include long-term activities,
one-time efforts and things that you could do today to make a
difference. Any of these efforts will make a tremendous impact on

Art of Dining Volunteers
Looking
for a fun, meaningful volunteer opportunity? Women's Funding
Alliance is seeking volunteers for its 2008 Art
of Dining Auction Committee. This fabulous event features
an elegant multi-course dinner and an auction that showcases art
from many of the Northwest's notable women artists. In 2007, the
Art of Dining raised over $354,000 -- the most ever in the history
of this event! -- to improve the lives of women and girls.
We are looking for volunteers to serve on the Art of Dining Committee.
Volunteer tasks include: securing auction items, corporate sponsors,
table captains and guests; developing the theme and decor; designing
and laying out the auction catalog; maintaining the Art of Dining
website; data entry; and day of/night of assistance. The committee
will begin meeting in November, and will likely meet once a month
until January, and then twice a month until the event.

more information about the Art of Dining, visit

Committees
These standing committees are always looking for fun women with
sharp minds: Finance Committee, Revenue Committee.
Project-Based
If you have some time now but are not sure what your future looks
like, this is probably the best place for you. Project based volunteering
typically requires being involved with a staff member or committee
in the development and implementation of a specific project. Past
projects include working on events like the Art of Dining or in
the production of a publication like our Resource Directory. Projects
are usually of specific duration and involvement levels vary.
Contact our office to find out what is happening now.
Office
Support
If you would like to put down some roots and join our office, this
is the job for you. On an on-going basis we need people
who are interested in committing to being in our office for a
minimum of two scheduled hours per week. The work could include
answering the phone, helping with mailings, doing research,
helping with data entry and helping with fundraising and marketing
projects. Since this kind of volunteering will require some
training, volunteers are asked to commit for at least 3 months.
Professional
Services
If you would like to put your professional skills to use in the
community, this is the job for you. We regularly need the
assistance of skilled professionals. Specific areas include:
writing, editing, graphic design, PR, legal, accounting, strategic
planning, HR and event planning.
One
Time Assistance
If you would like to get involved but don’t have a lot of time,
this is the job for you. Periodically we need people to
help for just a couple of hours. Some examples include helping
with a mailing, helping on the day of an event, or participating
in a phone-a-thon. If you sign-up, your name will be added to
our email distribution list of ‘One Time Assistance’ volunteers.
When we have a need we send email to the list and those who are
available, join us. This is a very ‘low commitment’ way to get
involved that can also be a lot of fun.
