Women's Funding Alliance

Justice, health and opportunity for women and girls.

2008 Achievements & Highlights

Women’s Funding Alliance (WFA) extends our heartfelt thanks to our many supporters and friends that make our achievements possible. In partnership with caring people like you, we have achieved the ambitious goals we set forth.

  • In the spring of 2008, we awarded $75,000 in Civic Engagement & Leadership Development grants to four agencies working to register female voters, ensure turnout on election days and develop marginalized women to be leaders within their communities through political involvement. Grantees include Equal Rights Washington, OneAmerica, Parents Organizing for Welfare and Economic Rights and Statewide Poverty Action Network.
  • 150 people attended our two Reception & Grantee Briefings in 2008, showcasing the work of our Civic Engagement & Leadership Development grantees. These briefings gave guests the chance to be a part of the conversation and hear directly from grantees about how WFA’s funding advanced their work.
  • WFA held our first Economic Opportunity Convening in the fall of 2008. More than 40 non-profits and funders who are working on creating economic opportunities attended this session to share lessons learned and to educate us about the tangible ways to measure this important work.
  • In order to precisely measure the depth of the impact we have on the community, we began revamping our evaluation tools and aligning them with nationally recognized social change indicators.
