In this report, you will read about solutions created by women and girls in our region that are laying the groundwork for long-term social change. These solutions include both preventative and intervening efforts that together build a strong foundation for social, economic and political equality. Because the complex nature of social change can make it difficult to measure progress from year to year, we recently adopted a measurement system based on a collection of common indicators used by women’s funds around the world. The system, known as “Making the Case”, is built around five core shifts. In this report you will learn more about these shifts, how they inform our grantmaking process and what they tell us about our progress.

Women’s Funding Alliance has been able to achieve many goals during the 18 month period of January 2007 through June 2008. We published A Closer Look in June 2007. An in-depth study focusing on the quality of life for women and girls in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. We doubled our grantmaking. In the last seven years we’ve seen our funding grow from supporting 15 organizations to nearly 40.
